Back-end (Node.js) engineer

Our customer is a platform for booking hotel rooms for business trips using algorithms that help companies save time, effort, and travel expenses. The platform quickly finds suitable accommodation options based on price, location, and other travel requirements. It also provides access to wholesale hotel rates and centralized booking management through a single user-friendly interface.

‍Requirements:

‍● 6+ years of commercial experience in a Backend Developer role
● proven expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, MongoDB (self-hosted and Atlas), AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3), GitHub Actions, CloudWatch, and OpenSearch
● deep understanding of backend architecture, application performance, scalability, and distributed systems design
● experience working with an existing monolithic backend, including improving its architecture, stability, and code quality over time
● solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, clean architecture principles, and maintainable, production-grade application design
● ability to take responsibility for complex backend features and drive them from idea to production
● proactive and reliable, with a natural ability to explore problems, suggest solutions, and move work forward independently
● english — upper-intermediate (B2) or higher

What you will do:

● design, develop, and maintain core backend functionality using Node.js and TypeScript
● work with an existing monolithic backend, improving architecture, stability, and code quality over time
● build and integrate cloud-based solutions using AWS and serverless components
● take ownership of backend features from technical discovery through implementation, testing, and production support
● collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to design and deliver reliable technical solutions
● identify areas for improvement, refactor legacy parts of the system, and suggest pragmatic optimizations
● actively participate in technical discussions, sharing ideas and helping shape the product and engineering practices
